At a time when the overexploitation of natural resources resources is reaching unprecedented level, Osier Joséphine believes it is more important than ever to slow down. The philosophy of our small family business is simple: consume less, consume better. No more superfluous gadgets whose lifespan barely exceeds a few months. No more plastic waste suffocating our oceans. No more waste of any kind. No more excess.

Osier Joséphine refuses to take part in the vicious cycle of endlessly creating new needs and products, and the constant feeling of frustration that comes with it. For an object to be truly useful, it should be reliable, sturdy, repairable and/or recyclable. And it should be able to fulfil not just one, but several functions. These are the qualities of the products you will find in our shop.

European-made craftsmanship

Osier Joséphine began its activity by offering wicker containers made in Europe. Shopping baskets, bicycle baskets, log baskets, bottle holders, and more: our shop offers everyone the very best that wicker has to offer for everyday use.

Woven by talented craftspeople whose expertise has been passed down from generation to generation, wicker gives rise to objects that are both practical and elegant, whose qualities speak for themselves.

The baskets in our range are made from natural wicker (obtained by drying green, natural wicker), or buff wicker (obtained by boiling the wicker in water and removing its bark). They are never varnished and contain no chemicals.

Nothing is wasted: everything is passed on or transformed

Environmentally friendly, sturdy and durable, wicker baskets accompany their owners for many years and can often even be passed down to future generations. At the end of their life, they can simply be left outside, filled with flowers or plants of all kinds, or, as a last resort, offered to the flames of the fireplace, where they will once again warm the hearts of family members for the very last time.

A reduced carbon footprint

Beyond encouraging a return to greater simplicity for a healthier life, Osier Joséphine aims to celebrate European and neighbouring expertise and craftsmanship.
